Ben & Marissa Scholten
After two years of preparation and training, we launched in Cambodia in February of 2022 on a 3 year commitment. We are focused on building relationships with staff and students at New Hope School and providing leadership to One 17’s vision for reaching the left behind in Cambodia.
where it began
We are advocates for One 17 International and the work God is doing in Cambodia. Our mission began in 2015, when Ben served on a short-term trip to Haiti, using his background in architecture to make campus improvements. Since then, we’ve traveled to Battambang, Cambodia, where we met the staff and students at New Hope School. Our involvement deepened when we formed the New Hope School Board in 2019 where we began providing input on operational strategies and partnership milestones.
WHAT WE DO now
BEN’S purpose
I am passionate about leadership, discipleship, and design. I am the point leader for One 17’s partnership with New Hope. I also provide support to New Hope in the areas of leadership, discipleship, and campus development.
Marissa’s Purpose
I am passionate about culture, education, and growth. I collaborate with the teaching staff and administrative team to set educational goals, develop English & Bible curriculum, and provide training.
